ree

Cape Town, South Africa - 06 November 2025. The African Agri Investment Indaba (AAII) 2025, Africa’s largest food and agriculture investment platform, will host a dedicated Seeds & Startups Program, a full-day showcase of Africa’s most promising agricultural innovators, entrepreneurs, and early-stage agribusiness ventures.

Under the 2025 Indaba theme, “The New World Order: A Self-Sufficient Africa,” the Seeds & Startups Program aims to unlock investment and financing opportunities for small and medium-scale farmers, agri-tech developers, and agribusiness startups who are shaping the continent’s next generation of food systems.

A Day Designed for Growth, Investment, and Partnership

Building upon the success of AAII24, which raised R239 million, the upcoming Seeds & Startups Day will bring together investors, accelerators, development finance institutions (DFIs), commercial banks, and agribusiness leaders to explore practical investment pathways and share best practices for scaling sustainable, inclusive, and profitable agri-ventures.

Participating startups and innovators will each have 10 minutes to pitch their projects to a panel of seasoned investors and a wider audience of potential partners, financiers, and clients. The format is designed to spark direct deal flow, facilitate mentorship opportunities, and connect innovators with growth capital.

Showcasing Africa’s Agri-Innovation Potential

From precision agriculture and digital platforms to value-added food processing and sustainable solutions, the Seeds & Startups program will spotlight cutting-edge solutions addressing food security, productivity, and climate resilience. In addition to pitch sessions, the day will feature:

  • Investment readiness and case study sessions led by agribusinesses, venture capital and impact-investment experts.

  • Mentorship opportunities pairing innovators with seasoned agribusiness executives.

  • Networking sessions connecting startups to regional distributors, policymakers, and DFIs.

Driving Private-Sector-Led Agricultural Transformation

“Seeds & Startups program represents the heartbeat of innovation in Africa’s agricultural transformation at the Agri Indaba,” said Ben Leyka, Chief Executive Officer of the African Agri Council. “By creating a space where bold ideas meet committed investors, we are strengthening the ecosystem that will feed and finance the Africa of 2030.”
